fees and insurance

Our office accepts most insurance plans that cover acupuncture and has a billing department to process all claims. Here is a list of popular insurance companies that we may be able to bill for office visits:

  • Aetna
  • Cigna
  • United HealthCare
  • Blue Cross
  • Blue Shield
  • PacifiCare
  • Guardian
  • Great West
  • Harrington Health
  • Humana
  • UMR
  • Personal Injury Claims (car accidents)
  • Worker’s Compensation Claims (injury on the job)

There are many more companies, but those listed above are the most common.

We are in-network/contracted with Blue Shield but an out-of-network provider for all other plans.

If you have insurance, please contact our office to have your benefits verified.  When you call or email please be prepared to give your full name, date of birth, the name of your insurance plan and the member ID number on your insurance card.  We will get back to you in 1-2 business days with your coverage information.

If you do not have insurance that covers acupuncture, or are under-insured, these are our out-of-pocket rates:

Initial consultation, exam, and acupuncture treatment (first-time patient; 1.5 hours): $160

Initial consultation, exam, and acupuncture for Fertility patients (1.5 hours): $185 (we incur substantially more training for reproductive medicine and thus charge an additional fee)

Follow-up acupuncture treatment (returning patients; 1-1.25 hours):  $95

Follow-up acupuncture treatment Fertility patients (1-1.25 hours):  $105

Herbal medicine consultation (20 minutes):  $58

Labor Induction Treatment (1 hour):  $115

If paying with a credit card an additional $3 transaction fee will apply.

Acupuncture is a fully-approved medical expense under Health Savings Accounts and Flex-Spending Accounts (thus you can use your HSA/FSA card to pay for treatments).

Payment is due in full at the time services are rendered.

We have a few sliding scale spots available in our practice in cases of financial hardship/low income for those who display a strong commitment to improving their health.  If this applies to you, please contact us, tell us about your situation, and we'll let you know if there are any sliding scale spots open at this time.
